below are some questions posted by people on www.yahooanswers.com, and how i answered them accordingly.

question:

if missionaries go to warzones, shouldn't the church be taxed to pay for their rescue (if they were kidnapped?)

my answer:

we CHOOSE with love to go for missionary trips.
we do not expect the church to be responsible for any mishaps.
they do not send us. WE CHOOSE to go. do you understand???
stop blaming the church. blame those terrorists!
i know it is dangerous, but the gospel must be preached. i know that i might face death, but i am still going into China this month to share Jesus' love. so what? nothing is going to stop me!

question:

Do you think Jesus was so egoistical to think that HIS ONE DEATH could save the whole world?

my answer:

SERIOUSLY, His death saved me.
His death saved millions of people too.
you must experience it yourself. be humble and accept Him.

question:

if God could let non-christians into heaven, would He do it?If God is allowed to do anything he wants and if he is allowed to let non-Christians into Heaven if he chose to, then what is stopping him?

my answer:

God's Naure is holy, and righteous.
Jesus dealt with our sin on the cross. if we accept Jesus, our sins are forgiven and God will let us in heaven.
if we reject Jesus, our sins are not forgiven, and we have sin in us.
so if God decides to allow nonchristians with sins not dealt with into heaven, then God must also allow satan, the demons, and all sorts of evil people in to heaven.
Then if God allows sin to enter into heaven and His presence, He contradicts His own Nature, which means He is not holy and righteous.
so, how can God contradict Himself? then christians would be believing in vain!

question:

if God and Jesus are two persons, then do we have TWO GODS?

my answer:

They are One.
like the seed of an orange and the skin of an orange. both are seperate, yet One.

question:

do christians understand that the hijab (muslim woman headscarf) is a choice? Also does it not state in the Christian Bible that women must cover her head?

my answer:

for Christians, yes, it is a choice.
but for muslims, some say its mandatory Icompulsory), some say its a choice. so i am really confused. one muslim even told me that if a muslim doesn't wear a hijab, she is not really a muslim at all!

question:

isn't repenting sort of a useless feel-good easy way out?Does faith in Jesus mean you get to act like a smacktard (jerk), can't be called on your crap because it's "between you and Jesus," and escape all consequences or moral responsibility if you just "repent?" Is THAT what Christianity teaches?

my answer:

it really depends on how you have "repented".
if i say i repent, and i continue to behave like an unbeliever in school, at work or at home, then i have not really repented, and GOD knows it, and His forgiveness, peace and assurance is not with me.
if i say i repent of (i.e., pornography) my sin, and i change, and i make an effort to stop committing that sin, and ultimately come out of it FREE, then i have truly repented, and God's forgiveness, peace and assurance will be with me.
i have seen christians who live their lives like unbelievers, cursing, drinking, smoking, and taking drugs. so, i would understand where you are coming from. you must understand some of these christians need more time to change too.

"Why me God? Why?" - a post revisited

Many Christians come to a point where they will ask God this question, "God! Why me? Why am i going through this suffering?"

"Are You not there?"

When our friends turn against us, when we have messed up big time, when our loved ones pass away, when we lose our possessions, when we suffer physical, emotional or sexual abuse, when we are going through immense stress and depression, we ask God, "why Lord? why me??"

"why? why? why me?"

why

There are times when every breath seems so painful. There are moments when we do not want to face tomorrow. There are periods of our lives when we just want to "escape it all"

It is good, and sometimes beneficial for Christians to question "why". Questioning challenges us to find out the truth, and to explore all possibilities of the situation that we are in. Contray to belief, we should question often, as christians.

But I caution that Christians should never question if God is there, for it is written, "..He will never leave me, nor forsake me..."

One thing is certain: that is God will never leave us.

However, we might lose the ability to "feel" or "detect" God's presence in our lives when we go through tough times.

It might be the sin we are in, it might be the distraction that we are so lost in, that cause us not to "feel" His presence.

It is as if God has "turned His face" away from us.

But still God will never leave us, even though He cannot stand to "look" at our sins, and distractions.

And if we will still ask why would certain things happen to us. Then i would say one thing to you, my dear brother/sister, "If God only allows bad things to happen to non-christians, then is the God that we believe in fair?"

God allows bad things to happen to christians and non-christians. The difference is, God has given us so freely, His power, His love, His assurance, His hope, in other words, HIS PRESENCE, to overcome and to conquer all things in Christ.

Romans Chapter 8 verse 37 says, "Nay (No), in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us."

We have the power to conquer all the "WHY ME" situations through Him who loves us so deeply.

And again the Bible says in Romans8:38, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[m] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Corrinne May's song, "Everything in its time" says, "There are a thousand reasons why I should give up, but I am stubborn in the things i belief [that is the faith in God]."

Nothing, NOT EVEN the "WHY-IS-THIS-HAPPENING-TO-ME" situation will be able to seperate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.

Read Romans8:38 again and again when you are facing tough times and hard situations. If you are able to grasp the essence of this verse, you will come to understand and believe that NOTHING will be able to snatch you away from God's love.

So, when you are running and you fall, when you keep walking and you cannot seem to find the finishing line, when you stop and see a tall wall in front of you, when you see your enemies challenging you, when you feel you are so lost, when you want to give it all up, remember that "we are more than Conquerors through Him who loved us" and gave His life for us.

Do conquerors quit?

Interesting Facts!

1. Did you know that Western European powers (under the Catholic Pope's command) and The Mongolian Empire actually forged an alliance in the 13th century to wipe out Muslims in Jerusalem but failed?

"As the land of the Muslims, that is, Syria and Egypt, is placed between us (Mongols) and you (Catholics in Western Europe), we will encircle and strangle ("estrengebimus" it (the Muslims). We will send our messengers to ask you to send an army to Egypt, so that us on one side, and you on the other, we can, with good warriors, take it over. Let us know through secure messengers when you would like this to happen. We will chase the Saracens (Muslims), with the help of the Lord, the Pope, and the Great Khan (Mongol Emperor)."

Extract from the 1285 letter from Arghun to Honorius IV, Vatican[23]

2.

Did you know that 2 boys aged 18 years old stormed their own high schools in 1999 in America and killed 13 people and wounded 24 others with PIPE BOMBS, a shot gun and a semi-automatic gun? They committed most of the killings in the school's library where students were hiding underneath study desks. They then went around taunting their victims and shooting randomly (most of the time) at the desks. But when they chose their targets, some critics say they chose "jocks" (people deemed as cool or sporty), and christians specifically to kill.

3.

Did you know that terrorists from Al-Qaeda affliliated Jemmah Islamiyah plotted to bomb Singapore targets such as Yishun MRT, Ministry of Education building, foreign embassies, Changi Airport Tower, and attack foreign diplomats and American troops based in Singapore in 2001? All of them were caught.

4.

Did you know that Muslims disagree totally that God should have a Son?

Desist, it is better for you; Allah is only one Allah; far be It from His glory that He should have a son, whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is His, and Allah is sufficient for a Protector.
5.
Did you know that Brunei is being divided and seperated into West and East Brunei by Malaysia's territorial land?

6.

Did you know that praying mantis practice sexual cannibalism? The females usually devour the male whole, starting from the head, after mating.

 7.

Did you know the Opium War was started because The Emperor of China banned opium, resulting in monetary losses for Britain?

8.

Did you know that Hiroshima was chosen for the Atomic Bomb drop because of its (the city's) large size, it being "an important army depot" and the potential that the bomb would cause greater destruction because the city was surrounded by hills which would have a "focusing effect".?

9.

Did you know that Singapore is ranked 53rd in the list of "The world's largest cities" in terms of population? The largest city in terms of population is Tokyo in Japan.

Interesting!

I have decided to write down some things that usually do not catch our attention, but which I find really interesting.

  • The main road outside my camp turns into a mini-Beijing in the morning rush hour. Malaysian, Mainland Chinese, and Thai workers cycle frantically to work in the ALL directions on the roads, on the pavements, on the grass. It is dangerous, with cars and big trucks going out of Tuas areas. It is interesting to watch. So far, no one has been hurt.

  • There is this tissue selling old Ah-ma at the walkway linking Bukit Batok interchange and the train station. She always shouts out to people to buy tissue packs from her. You can give her just 50 cents, and she can give you up to 25 packs of tissues. She is definitely making a loss. I can understand why she does this when I saw her son (apparently) picking her up in a Mercedez Benz after her “work”. Funny.

  • Monkeys now and then invade my church as the building is located just below Bt Timah Nature Reserve. The sight of girls screaming and running away from the monkeys, just amuse me a lot.

  • When I walk to the bus stop behind my house in the early mornings at about 625am, I always see a pair of adult Indian brothers behind me, running towards the same bus stop. This happens EVERYDAY, without fail. I always wonder: why can’t they just leave their house like 2minutes (or even 1 minute) earlier, so that they do not have to run after the bus?
