soka church

i cannot believe it!

soka association has a rip-off song from the christian music world!

you know "Jesus You are my best friend?"

they have one too! "buddha you are my best friend!" but according to buddhism teaching, buddha became Nothing. erm.

maybe next they will be ripping the song One Way Jesus to you know what.

and they call their teachers "pastors", and they function in cell groups!

by the way soka association is a buddhist organistion trying to be cool and hip like the youth grps in church.

they even send their ppl into our churches to hear what songs we are listening  and what songs we are using to praise our God !

they even "evangelise!" they share the "goodnews" of buddha. but isnt this contrary of buddhism teaching? buddha never taught his disciples to tell people about him. just a thought.

and they dance and they entertain, and they have cars, nice buildings and halls.they scream, they shout, they jump, like the christian church. they even pray.

but wait. did Suddhodana Gautama even tell them to pray to him?  and isnt glory, riches, desires, showcasing contrary to buddhism teachings, when buddhism is supposed to be "getting rid of all desires?"

well well, but i know Christianity is about relating to people of your times, of your culture, to reach out to them, to tell them about the Good News of the kingdom of heaven, which is what Jesus taught.

i love the soka youths too. i hope they come to know the Original Creator.

work hard!

i went to soka cultural centre today because one of my cell members is a band member there; that is, for the last time.

we went to support her, and also we really want her to leave soka. so we kinda made an agreement. we go, and this will be your last time in soka.

you know how if you have been a christian for very long, and also if you are spiritually "sharp", you know and can feel the presence of evil spirits, or even oppression.

when we entered the place, a place full of spiritual activity, i felt it. but we prayed before we entered. and we believe the One living in us is greater than the one in the world.

so we went in, and were quite surprised to see that their hall chairs were the same as ours!

we sat down and they had USHERS TOO! ...i was kinda disgusted by then.

and the performance came on. there were dances, singing, and cheerleading, and lastly the band performance.

let me tell you all abit about the dances.

all the dancers were young girls. very young. they wore short skirts, tank tops. that was not just it. one of the hip hop dance, titled "dynamic dolls", the dancers danced to a song with lyrics like "THE MOTHER OF TEMPTATIONS".

and their moves were "inviting", and suggestive. they had to crawl and wriggle (if i could use this word) around, almost enticing.

and mind you, they are just primary to secondary school students.

and i shook my head in the midst of all the buddhist parents.

i mean.even if i was a nonchristian parent, i would find it atrocious and most repulsive that a youth organisation would teach my children such things. to dance for tempting? to entice? or to seduce?

i was totally disturbed.

it was wrong even by buddhist standards.

not to say by our God's standards.

and i was surprised the parents actually clapped.

what is the world becoming?

don't they know that if you let children watch violent shows, they will become violent when they grow up?

and if you expose them to immorality, they will grow up to be immoral?

if you expose them to alcohol and cigarrettes, there is such a high chance for them to smoke and drink when they grow older?

so if we teach them to tempt, to wear skimpily, to dance like you are enticing, what will they grow up to become?

i see those youths, and i felt really angry. not at them, not at the organisation. but at the unrighteousness of men, at the self-glorification of the human spirit, at the works and blinding of the enemy. i was angry.

then after the performance, we went downstairs to wait for our cellgroup member.

i started praying in tongues right in the place of darkness.

and i said "Jesus bless you" to 3 little children. they were shocked. haha.. but i did not really care.

then me and cherie approached this little girl to share the gospel. but the minute i speak of Jesus' Name, her expression changed and she replied,"IM A BUDDHIST".

wow. that from a little girl. does she even know what she is talking about?

but well, and then we went off and left that place.

as i left, i began to even wonder why they had chairs and tables similar to our cafe, and a leader called Miss Yap.

the enemy works hard, to steal the souls of men, and to copy what God has, to shortchange others by giving them counterfeit things.

the churches in singapore must even work harder, to rescue these souls, to keep them, to retain them, to disciple them into the Kingdom of God.

there is no more time for halfbaked christians, half hearted christian dances, skits, worship services. christians who are scolding vulgarities still, clubbing, drinking, smoking, indulging in some  useless BGRelationship, fighting, basically, being a HALF BAKED CHRISTIAN, its time for you to ahem....

WAKE UP.  don't waste your own time doing these stupid things, and don't waste God's resources.

all christians, stand up for His righteousness by His blood, do our best, strive on, and let the Spirit of our Lord lead us to greater heights!

every moment i am alive

every moment i am alive, i feel so good.

every moment i am breathing, i thank God.

its just so wonderful that i am alive.

to see and marvel at our great civilisation,

to feel the touch of my friends,

to hear the sound of nature,

to smell the morning dew.

i guess its the life that God has given me.

a new life.

once my brother asked me,

"what if one day you died and you realised there was not any God?"

i replied,

"that thought never came to my mind, but since you asked, i would say i would die with no regrets. because God did still change my life."

however long my life is,

i think meeting my Saviour was the best thing.

for now i delight in the beautiful life He has given me.

my life might be gone the next,

but i think i will die smiling.

because i know where i am heading to.

not because of my good works,

not because i am righteous.

but because

HE TOOK MY PLACE TO SUFFER.

God oh God..

how much can i thank You?

how much can i worship You?

i can only do that much.

i can only lift my hands as high as i can.

i can only kneel down.

i can only spend eight hours in church every week.

i can only sing a song to You.

these are the BEST I CAN DO,

but yet these cannot be compared to the Life You have given me.

what if

what if Jesus was just a nice guy? that He is not God?

what if i spent my whole life serving the church?

what if when i die, i would just return to the soil?

what if there is no heaven and hell?

seriously i don't care.

because i'm overwhelmed by His presence in my life

cos my life was changed, and this "nice guy" Jesus taught me alot in life, by His Words of wisdom.

but wait,

what if YOU are wrong,

that Jesus was and is really God?

what if there is heaven and hell?

what if Heis the Only Way to heaven?

what if you were given a whole life to receive Him but you did not? and when you die, you see Him at the gates of heaven?

think about it, my dear non-christian friend.

the 4 No Nos

there are a few main things that we always emphasize in Nissi3 and even as a church, because the Bible teaches us too.

  •  we do not agree with gossiping

gossiping is talking among your friends, about something, some event, or someone, with or without the intention to harm, ruin, or damage a person's reputation, saying something, which is not true, or has not gone through thorough investigations

  • BGR

we believe that one has to be matured enough first, to go into a BGR.matured in relationship with God, matured in handling one's finances, having his or her own income, matured in relationship with family and church friends, has a matured accountability relationship with the leaders in church.

  • dressing

we also do not wish to see girls wearing short skirts, shorts, shirts, dress etc to church or anywhere else. (anything revealing undergarments, flesh etc) we believe a girl or a woman has to carry herself in a wise and matured manner, loving herself, and treasuring the temple of God. we also believe that by wearing short stuff, a girl will be sending out WRONG messages to guys. she will also be seen as a sex object in a corrupted world. guys going to church are strongly discouraged to dress sloppily, or even in slippers. guys should not look dirty and smelly in church. the Bible does tell us to clean up before going into the presence of God.

what you wear is what you are. think twice before you choose something to wear

  •  vulgarities

if you think the mouth you use to praise God, can be used to curse people with vulgar words, then you have to think twice too. it just makes us a hypocrite. beware of the words we use!
