i went to soka cultural centre today because one of my cell members is a band member there; that is, for the last time.
we went to support her, and also we really want her to leave soka. so we kinda made an agreement. we go, and this will be your last time in soka.
you know how if you have been a christian for very long, and also if you are spiritually "sharp", you know and can feel the presence of evil spirits, or even oppression.
when we entered the place, a place full of spiritual activity, i felt it. but we prayed before we entered. and we believe the One living in us is greater than the one in the world.
so we went in, and were quite surprised to see that their hall chairs were the same as ours!
we sat down and they had USHERS TOO! ...i was kinda disgusted by then.
and the performance came on. there were dances, singing, and cheerleading, and lastly the band performance.
let me tell you all abit about the dances.
all the dancers were young girls. very young. they wore short skirts, tank tops. that was not just it. one of the hip hop dance, titled "dynamic dolls", the dancers danced to a song with lyrics like "THE MOTHER OF TEMPTATIONS".
and their moves were "inviting", and suggestive. they had to crawl and wriggle (if i could use this word) around, almost enticing.
and mind you, they are just primary to secondary school students.
and i shook my head in the midst of all the buddhist parents.
i mean.even if i was a nonchristian parent, i would find it atrocious and most repulsive that a youth organisation would teach my children such things. to dance for tempting? to entice? or to seduce?
i was totally disturbed.
it was wrong even by buddhist standards.
not to say by our God's standards.
and i was surprised the parents actually clapped.
what is the world becoming?
don't they know that if you let children watch violent shows, they will become violent when they grow up?
and if you expose them to immorality, they will grow up to be immoral?
if you expose them to alcohol and cigarrettes, there is such a high chance for them to smoke and drink when they grow older?
so if we teach them to tempt, to wear skimpily, to dance like you are enticing, what will they grow up to become?
i see those youths, and i felt really angry. not at them, not at the organisation. but at the unrighteousness of men, at the self-glorification of the human spirit, at the works and blinding of the enemy. i was angry.
then after the performance, we went downstairs to wait for our cellgroup member.
i started praying in tongues right in the place of darkness.
and i said "Jesus bless you" to 3 little children. they were shocked. haha.. but i did not really care.
then me and cherie approached this little girl to share the gospel. but the minute i speak of Jesus' Name, her expression changed and she replied,"IM A BUDDHIST".
wow. that from a little girl. does she even know what she is talking about?
but well, and then we went off and left that place.
as i left, i began to even wonder why they had chairs and tables similar to our cafe, and a leader called Miss Yap.
the enemy works hard, to steal the souls of men, and to copy what God has, to shortchange others by giving them counterfeit things.
the churches in singapore must even work harder, to rescue these souls, to keep them, to retain them, to disciple them into the Kingdom of God.
there is no more time for halfbaked christians, half hearted christian dances, skits, worship services. christians who are scolding vulgarities still, clubbing, drinking, smoking, indulging in some useless BGRelationship, fighting, basically, being a HALF BAKED CHRISTIAN, its time for you to ahem....
WAKE UP. don't waste your own time doing these stupid things, and don't waste God's resources.
all christians, stand up for His righteousness by His blood, do our best, strive on, and let the Spirit of our Lord lead us to greater heights!
