nice song

In Christ alone my hope is found

He is my light, my strength, my song

This Cornerstone, this solid ground

Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace

When fears are stilled, when strivings cease

My Comforter, my All in All

Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone,

who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless babe

This gift of love and righteousness

Scorned by the ones He came to save

'Till on that cross as Jesus died

The wrath of God was satisfied

For every sin on Him was laid

Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay

Light of the world by darkness slain

Then bursting forth in glorious Day

Up from the grave He rose again

And as He stands in victory

Sin's curse has lost it's grip on me

For I am His and He is mine

Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death

This is the power of Christ in me

From life's first cry to final breath

Jesus commands my destiny

No power of hell, no scheme of man

Can ever pluck me from His hand

'Till He returns or calls me home

Here in the power of Christ I'll stand

light of men, love of God

Jesus You were The Light of men, and You were The Love of God when You were on earth.

You came to save us, but yet, with our sins, our disobedience, we nailed You to the Cross.

but yet, You know, that it was in His perfect Plan, that You be crushed for our sins, diseases, and weaknesses.

i tried to walk through Your Life on earth.

to try to see Your humble ways. to try to be there when You spoke of wise parables.

to imagine seeing You face to face, like John The Beloved did.

to touch Your robe oh Jesus, would be more then enough for me.

that if if You washed my feet at that time, o how blessed would i feel? how privileged would it be?

to be able to proclaim You as Christ, the Son of the Living God in front of You. to be able to be in Your embrace, to be able to hold Your hand when i walked on water.

if i were there.

at the Cross. i would break down and cry, when You said "forgive them, for they know not what they do".

for it is my sin which brought You onto the cross. for it was for love that You be brought to the lowest of human dignity.

now that You have risen Jesus, I can no longer see You physically. but You Spirit Whom You promised is with me.

Your power on the cross still works in my life.

and You are still the Light of my life,

and the Love of God

eternally.

Jesus Freak

imagine that you have been captured by Islamic extremists.

or Chinese Communists.

and that they have tortured you so much, you cannot bear with it much longer. and as you are vomitting blood and coming to terms on what you have just been through, the whipping, the scalding, the beating, your enemy suddenly said,

"hey Christian, recite to me YOUR TEN COMMANDMENTS!"

thinking that this is a chance to share the Light of God with your enemy, you immediately stuttered your ten commandments, hoping that through this, your enemy persecutor might see the point.

when you come to the part about "honouring your father and mother...", you torturer stops you.

"ok good. now i will see if you are a good christian and see if you will honour your PARENTS!"

with that, the other officers pull your non-christian parents out and push them to the ground.

your enemy points a gun at their heads.

"Renounce your silly Jesus and you will honour them so that they will not die"

now now, what would you do?

tough huh? really tough.

Jesus never said that carrying His cross was easy. It is hard to bear, and one must die to himself to be a disciple of Christ.

all that we sing, "no matter what the cost, i will go for You.", or "send me i will go, send me!", or "something in my heart, is burning like a fire" or "how great is our God!" comes to test now.

do we really mean it when we sing those words? loving the Cross means loving Jesus to death. are we ready if God calls us to be martyrs for His Glory?

what my friend weiwei suggested for that given situation was that she would scream to her non-christian mom to believe in Jesus. (if they were in the given situation)

these were her words roughly,"mommy! believe in Jesus! do what i did before. this is a critical moment, i cannot be lying!"

all of us would know what kind of ending she will have if she really was in that situation and reacted as she would.

but we know, we do it all for the glory of God.

that we would love Jesus to death.

i mean i am pretty sure i'm ready to love Him to death.

how about you?

ready to carry your cross?

ready to die to your own SELFISH desires or even to die physically for His glory?

indeed, Jesus has overcome death, literally. and those who do not deny Him shall be led to everlasting life!

and not even the lord of death, can prevail or seperate me from the Love of Christ.

i'm sure Christians who are being tortured, raped, beaten, killed, beaten, bashed up, whipped, burnt alive and faithful Christians who are with terminal diseases know what it means by "nothing can ever seperate us from Jesus".

Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

pray pray pray!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/4841334.stm

please go to this website and read and pray for this newly converted christian.

pray that he will not deny Jesus even as the muslim government of Afghanistan pressures him with the death penalty for his faith in Jesus Christ.

pray that he will be set free to from the prisons and be able to follow Christ.

Abdul Rahman is a Christian converted from Islam in a muslim state of Afghanistan.

Quoted from BBC website, "Under the interpretation of Islamic Sharia law on which Afghanistan's constitution is based, Mr Rahman faces the death penalty unless he reconverts to Islam." and this is what muslims believe in too.

Koran (the muslim's version of word of god)
"Kill the unbelievers wherever you find them, capture and besiege them and prepare for them every kind of ambush." (KORAN 9:5)

Contrary to what extremist muslims believe in as stated above, christians believe in a spiritual sword, that is prayer, and not a physical sword.

John 16: 1"All this I have told you so that you will not go astray. 2They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God. 3They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me. 4I have told you this, so that when the time comes you will remember that I warned you. I did not tell you this at first because I was with you.

and after Jesus said all of the above, He started praying as below.

John17: 14I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17Sanctify[b] them by the truth; your word is truth. 18As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. 19For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.

so if even Jesus prayed as an example for us to follow, we should pray too, for God's protection for Abdul Rahman and our own cell groups and our church from the forces of the evil one.

Christian prayer is powerful because we have a Living God, a Living Lord Jesus Christ to hear us out, and to break the works of the evil one!
