the FIVE unholy "B"s

there are five UNHOLY "B"s which we as christians MUST avoid and not have anything to do with them.

let me tell u all wat the 1st 4 unholy Bs are first,

bad talk

bad words

bad gossip

bad jokes

(james 3:5-14) about the tongue (YOUR talk)

5 So too the tongue is a small part of the body, yet it has great pretensions.33 Think how small a flame sets a huge forest ablaze. 6 And the tongue is a fire! The tongue represents the world of wrongdoing among the parts of our bodies, that pollutes the entire body and sets fire to the course of human existence and is set on fire by hell. 7 For every kind of animal, bird, reptile, and sea creature is subdued and has been subdued by humankind. 8 But no human can subdue the tongue; it is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

9 With it we bless the Lord and Father and with it we curse people made in God’s image. 10 From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. These things should not be so, my brothers and sisters. 11 A spring does not pour out fresh water and bitter water from the same opening, does it? 12 Can a fig tree produce olives, my brothers and sisters, or a vine produce figs? Neither can a salt-water spring produce fresh water.

let us go into the 5 unholy "B"s 

BAD TALK -

what is bad talk?

  • talk that touches on extreme violence
  • talk that touches on gratifying (increasing) selfish desires
  • talk that is unnecessary
  • talk that has no meaning, and no sense and which will change an environment be it cell group, church or family, into a very "COLD" and "less warm" place
  • talk that will DISGUST
  • talk that will demean character
  • talk that does not encourage or build up people

BAD WORDS

what are bad words? this one quite obvious

  • the "F" word
  • the s h i t word (because this biological product does not come out of ur mouth but from the other end)
  • " like you are sooo freaky"
  • " u r sooo incapable, stupid, idiotic..etcetc"
  • "HAHHAHA..i have nv seen such a _____ b4, u r so ____"
BAD GOSSIP (all gossips are bad) -

what is BAD gossip? gossip is

  • talk that would not be nice if the "main character" of the gossip hears it"
  • talk that is NOT TRUE
  • talk that is meant to bring down people
  • talk that is based on ASSUMPTIONS, and PERSONAL OPINIONS
  • talk that is meant to harm someone's reputation
  • talk that people indulge in when they have nothing constructive to do

BAD JOKES

what are bad jokes

give you an example: "look people, that "PIG" is here"

                              "wah U SO UGLY"

  • jokes that make people feel too uncomfortable
  • jokes that puts down the humanity of a person
  • jokes that are made up by a group to TARGET a person
  • jokes that get too explicit
  • racist jokes
  • when jokes are used to offend harshly

Ephesians4:29 "Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, that it may give grace to those who hear."

Ephesians 5:4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 

BAD MANNERS

  • snatching things from people, being spiteful, ungrateful etc.
  • not giving thanks to God and to people for everything in ur life
  • having sudden OUTBURSTS, like screaming in the public suddenly or "fighting" or behaving rowdily
  • shouting at each other, slapping each other
  • bad games, (physical contact which can become quite ROUGH, or too intimate)
all of us have been guilty of some or all -_-''' of these things. let us now come b4 God and change.

JAMES 3:13 Which of you is wise and understanding? By his good conduct he should show his works done in the gentleness that wisdom brings.

yes, lets have good CONDUCT in Christ today.

5 unholy "B"s

in due of the destruction of the 5 unholy "B"s in our cell, if anyone of u from nissi the 3rd hears of or sees any uNHOLY B, it is each of our duty to stop the person, and advise the person Biblically.

also, we should inform our leaders abt one of the deadliest unholy B, the Gossip.

let us conduct ourselves like Christians, not like the world.

 

1 John 4:6

We are of God. He who knows God listens to us. He who is not of God doesn't listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.  

 

just as 1 John 4:6 states, anyone who is of God will listen to leaders who give Godly advice (including me myself listening to leaders giving Godly advice)

on the contrary, HE/SHE who does NOT listen to leaders who give Godly advice is not of God. and by this, we know the spirit of truth is not in the person.

hopefully all members of Nissi 3rd will stop gossips, stop the Unholy Bs, root out gossips and bringing them to light.  

refer gossips to leaders today. advice each other to stop any unholy B.

hebrews 13:17 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they watch on behalf of your souls, as those who will give account, that they may do this with joy, and not with groaning, for that would be unprofitable for you.

LOVE

i love the very "family" feel of Nissi Knights,

where they prayed and have dinner till the night

 

i love the bubbliness and enthusiasm of Nissi Archers

where they always encourage and never fail to cheer

 

i love the excitement of Nissi Acts

where they always come with extra surprises and fully action-packed! ._.""

 

 
now,one thing i love to see

is that Acts,Archers,Knights in 3

will lack nothing in God's "FRUITY" tree.

love, joy, patience, goodness and peace, 

faithfulness, gentleness kindness and discipline (self-control).

of all these, love is what i'd LOVE to see

in all of our beloved Nissi 3

for love is the greatest of all these

and for God so loved us He wanted us free,

and He knew that only love can make us see,

and so there,  the Only Begotten Son He gave...

 

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

is love lacking in anyone of u today? ask God for love. see ur cell members thru God's eyes. and love will flow through. 

love ur cell members like urselves today. dun treat each other like another fren.  if God can accept U AND I as sinners, unclean filthy and wretched, now what right do we have not to love others?

R we smart?

the mid autuum festival celebration was great! wasnt it?

and their birthdays!

i think wanping's message was very very true..

 

we need to be real. no falsehood.

lavish our love on our cell ppl. how? by smsing encouraging messages. by telling ur disciple or discipler hw much u thank God for them (i did that! and my disciple sms me back also.lolz) by buying things for each other.by providing a listening ear and giving Godly advice. 

there is an urgency to be real. and to love.

in a society where we are bombarded with medium communication like MSN, SMS, our face to face communication has reduced tremendously.

and we think we have achieved a lot of things after a session of SMS or MSN, which in fact is not.

Medium communication (not face to face) has actually produced a generation of young people who do not know how to communicate when they come face to face with each other.

it is common nowadays to see youngsters plugging earphones with music into their ears while hanging out with a group of friends, with apparently no communication at all. it is commom to see youngsters brushing aside REAL COMMUNICATION with love by using a few jokes, which are normally bad or jus poking fun at each other.

with so many electronic gadgets and more medium communication, many of us have forgotten how to communicate PROPERLY with each other, in love and in care.

every day of our lives, in almost every corner of our streets, we are also bombarded with ADVERTISEMENTS. our eyes and ears are MERCILESSLY treated with posters, banners, pictures, video clips of advertisers who are desperate to sell their products to customers. we as consumers, are not given rest, and time to think, and to analyse.

we see, we "THINK" we want and know, and we act.

the world, especially Singapore, is on a road down marked with IGNORANCE, IRRATIONAL JUDGEMENT based on FEELINGS, and sadly to say, stupidity.

 

have we really achieved alot? or have we lost even more ?

MILLION THANKS

im busily slacking this holidays! haha..

sleeping, going msn, reading the Bible, praying, composing songs, going out. so NICEEEEEEEEE.

oh.for those who r having exams, pls pls concentrate on ur work k.. hee

talking about going out. im going to a padang open air movie screening tonight! hehheh. will it be nice? i dunno. with peeps like muen, lynn, guizhen etc. eh.. lets see.

this saturday b4 cell grp might be watching lords of dogtown, a skateboarding show. hmm. dunno got time or not. jus see see.. but i wanna watch it man.haha.

 

i love my cell members. really. i can tell this straight to God. i love hanging out with all of u all nissi 3. i like ur jokes (good ones) haha, ur laughter, ur crapiness, the identity, the togetherness, the very little love i feel, the friendliness, the caring attitude of some of u all. i love my disciples (kong sheng and wee huat) yea. and i love my leaders, wanping and xiangxiang.lolz.and pastor daniel, even our senior pastor song, i secretly admire him!lol really. hmmm.. and i love fellow leaders like keni, wanxin, huat, weiwei, nana etc. i love the CHURCH BUILDING EVEN! i love the pond in the church. i love the playground. i love the CAFE ON SUNDAYS!! i love the plants beautifying the church. i love alot alot of people and things that God has blessed me with.

i can tell this straight to God.but............... can u?

when i stand b4 God one day,

will i say "er...God i never did really love my cell group, or my disciplers and disciples... they were jus my FRIENDS... i even gossip abt some of them...cos I "CARED" for them! well...i did try to love them... but everytime i come cell group..it seems a bit fake..i noe i din try hard enough to be real..thats y God...i cant tell u that i really loved them.i can only tell them eh...that they are just my "cellmembers...some times even, i jus find myself hating my cell members, or quarelling over small matters...""

OR

will i say "HEY GOD! thank u for giving me all the ppl that You gave me. i loved them like You embraced me when i was a sinner! i loved them as much as You would love them. i am honest to You God and to myself, that i have loved them with my heart and with the love You have given me.! i did nothing wrong against them, but instead i tried in all ways to correct my cell members when they are wrong, help them when they are down, and i nv once speak maliciously (badly) against my friends in cell! and i am TRUELY thankful for everyone You have given me! and if u God would wan me to give an account ofthe friends you put in my care, i can and will joyfully tell You, because the people You put around me for me to love and care have become MORE LIKE YOU GOD!"

if u will find urself saying those things in red to God when you face Him, then u r on the wrong path.

if u will find urself saying those things in BLUE to God when u face Him, then i applaud You!

i have a long list of people to thank and to love for REAL REASONS, for blessing me physically and spiritually. i dun jus love and thank ppl for telling me a few jokes for me to laugh, or thank ppl who shared gossip with me. i dun jus love or thank ppl who are jus my "cell group members"  BUT becos i regard ALL who r in Christ as my second brothers and sisters whom i love as myself.

 

thank God for

My family.these people brought me laughter, tears, and growth spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally, whether indirectly or directly! they provide for me, and are the ones i treasure the most, esp. my mom, though i dun say it. haha...thank God for my mom being prayerful and nice. haha. i thank God alot for my mom especially after a "tragic event" in my family. she was the one taking care of the household chores, the admin legal matters (with my bro and sister), and till now i thank God for her for her unconditional (sometimes) love and care...(topped with much complains sometimes..LOL).. but ya.u noe abt the legal admin matters..i nv did once touch any of it.....cos like what some of my cell frens say.....................im administratively CHALLENGED.lol..

Pastor Daniel who always preaches hard and teaches us the Word of God with his best of his abilities. thank God for him always wanting the best for us, to help us try to understand the Word fo God to the best of how he can help us.thank him for even guiding me sometimes in my leadership. actually pastor's personality a bit like my brother's, straightforward, cautious in a very positive and intelligent way, smart, analytical. but pastor different cos he knows God.

Wanping who has guided us in her sharings and preachings, in being a friend and leader whom i can look to, whom has guided me since i was a young christian (with a ear ring which pastor always described.diao). for praying for me and talking to me. i will always remember how she talked to me about being late for cell groups and not doing my ice breakers.. there was once I CRIED (i was new then) because i din do ice breaker and my leader was quite unhappy? then wanping came and talk to me and advice me and brought me to understand the importance of the things we do in cell!

The Rixiang and Nana gang. for Rixiang as he has preached to us the Word of God and helped in strengthening the spiritual growth of the Church. thank him for the endless outings we used to have, his tireless job of "bringing us back home safely" policy, his lame jokes..and his providence for me sometimes. thank God for his stomach too..then we can go eat together..lol..for the rxNnn gang, thank them for their Johor outings, lameness, movie nights, suppers, their "brothers in Johor, and strangers at customs" policy...and their unconditional care sometimes.

Lynn,whose spiritual down periods always same period and timing as me one..dunno why....haha..then thank her for encouraging me always, praying for me, and also for her role in my mom's salvation too.she is my discipler! partly without her teachings, i wont be here. i think she is the model discipler to start with. faithful, patient, loving, encouraging, prayerful, and ..very PATIENT, considering i was quite nonsense in cell last time. ahhaha..thank her for some CCKSS memories too

My first disciple, AH HUAT AH. thank him for helping me see the importance of discipleship, for the times i helped him in tuition, for the times he brought me laughter, and was and is still my brother. thank him for his blurness SOMETIMES. haha.thank him for coming to pray for me once at altar call, and being the first to comfort me. so cool! hahaha.

my other disciples included, Ah Hau, Kong Ann, actually alot others.. thank all of them. thank those who came and went whom i did newlife lessons with.always be praying for them...for Kong Ann, thank him for the good times we had. and the bad ones. thank God for bringing into my life a dumb fren, and one who brought alot of joy.

My current disciple TAM Kong Sheng who tells me his struggles openly so that i can help him. whom has been a friend ever since he came, the times at his malaysian house, skating times, blabla bla. the times we watched the american idol parody and kept saying some bad things. wellwell, we grew outta it together. hahaha..thank him for teaching me guitar a few times.! WAH A 16YO teach a 20 YO. that calls for shame man. thank him for being my DEK (little child? or brother.dun remember).haha.oh i wish u can open up more to me, so we can grow together in Christ> he doesnt come my blog lei.how.er

TAM SHUEN! or danielle. for her in appreciating my composed music you know. when someone composes a song and presents it to someone, the least the composer wans is for someone to sit down there and just listen and comment whether bad or good, as long as that person sits down and listens! SHUEN is one such person! she sits down and listens!!! and even helps me sing. cooll..thank her for her endless calls for advices last time. i still WOULD LOVE to advice u on alot of things.so feel free to call me. anyone see this jus tell DA NIAo this.lOLz.

Huijin, for going out with me when i was bored last time, and crapping a lot. for providing for me too.....LOL...cab la, food la..quite a kind friend. one of the kindest and nicest i have met! selfless. thank her for her willingless and proactiveness in cell these days.. oh ya.and thank God for her still OWEING MY DVD AND MY JACKET. good sister in Christ.one of the most selfless i have seen. though quite lame sometimes, she changed alot too.from the first time in church to now. thank God for His works in her life.

weiwei for her BUBBLY character which never fails to bring a smile to my face.really. there was once i was quite down, and jus seeing her BIG EYES BIG SMILE WITH BRACES made me wanting to laugh. hahaha. its a compliment! HOOHOO.. so bubbly and happy.....IT SPREADS U NOE. scary..hahaha..and the times when she gave me Godly advice and when she was with me when i was down..really. i know u prayed for me. thank God for u sister! thank God for the grace in her life too!

leona and jun an, for being teachable, proactive and really nice, warm, and selfless too. really..for being obedient to Christ's Words, and leaders giving Godly advice. for God opposes the PROUD and gives grace to the humble. these 2 friends are ppl im proud of for God. of cos there are lots lots more ppl whom im waiting to CATCH THEM DOING GOOD. ! LOLz.

Wanxin, Keni, Huat and weiwei (again) for their endless energy in serving the children of God. they are the ones always thinking for the best for the cell, and who are strict and corrective in bad behaviour. love these people kkk! ps: when is the last time U THANK A LEADER for his role and his service?....

my bLOG readers! thank u for ur support..but more than that, i hope u all learn and apply what i teach sometimes!

the Spirit of Love, or? the spirit of error?

i guess this is what love is. a part of it at least.

going down to protect a friend who was bullied. not to fight, but to show that Christians are not to be bullied. and also to display unity. and if worse come to worse, we will protect our brother.

ya. love is more than just talk, or a few laughs, or a few gestures. it is more than that. it

love calls for much deeper than that. love for ur fellow christians.

actions. when there is a problem with a church fren, we help with the MOST GODLY WAY. we do not talk only. we guide them and help them to realise God's teachings.

we help our fellow christiansaccording to what God wants us to do.

if God wans us to go down and protect our brother, and not to fight, we obey. we do not lift a finger. if God tells us to give the guy a chance, we give a chance. if God tells us to be gracious, to love the enemy, we do it too, in actions.

similarly, if God tells you that only Love can make a way, you jolly well  listen to Him. Love is God. and God is Love, and what ever God TEACHES US is for our own good, and for a very very good reason.

if God tells u that only by resolving a conflict face to face can Love flow thru, (who is God Himself), then we do it.

if Love tells us that TALKING behind ppl's back, and gossiping, and conveying WRONG MESSAGES TO PEOPLE and other gossipers is WRONG, then if we do it still, WE DO NOT HAVE LOVE. and if we do not have love,

we do not have God in us. because God is Love and Love is God. God teaches us by His Word with Love. Jesus is the Word. and if we dun obey the Word, we dun obey Jesus, and we do not have love, though we claim to have, we do NOT HAVE.

and if we do not have the Spirit of God who is Love in us, u noe what do we have in us
?

1john4:6 We are of God. He who knows God listens to us. He who is not of God doesn't listen to us (us refers to christians or leaders who corrects by the Word of God.) By this we know the Spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

we have in us the spirit of error. if we do not have God. spirit of error is from satan. and this is the last thing we want to have in us., letting satan use us.

so next time, u face a problem, a conflict, do what the Bible says, for if you have Love in you, then you believe in Love (Jesus) and act by Love.

when God says ONE, we dun say TWO. if we do, we are blatently following the ancient old lie in the garden of eden.

(Your Spirit, even your body dies, everytime you sin or disobey His Word. Every time you disobey His Word, you are on your way to death. but if you repent, God does not count your sins)

(some people say they cannot feel God, or cannot see God. why? because part of their hearts have been sold to other idols in their lives)

(this verse strikes me a lot. God is so straightforward. Hallelujah.lols)

esther 7: 3-4

(Queen Esther's plead to King Xerxes to free her people from destruction.Book of Esther is a very interesting book which portrays a capable woman of God)

romans 12:19-21

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave itto the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

(Pastor Daniel did just this in the recent event of confrontation.)

(in times of trouble/conflicts/stress, stay still, listen to God, be slow to anger and to react, and obey His Word.becos God will help you in your time of need)

1 corinthians 3: 1-3

(are jealousy or rivarly among us? watch out.if there are, we are like the non-believers.)

(these verses tells us there are two kinds of unbelieving people generally. some of your friends will want to see MIRACLES and signs and wonders before they can believe in God. other friends will want to see proofs and evidences and to reason out the existence of God, before they can believe. but we who believe in God, by His power, have the wisdom of God, allowing us to believe in Him, to have faith in Him.)

(when we become servants of God, and christians, we should never do things for ourselves or for people or for our sake. we do things for the glory of God, then it will stand through)

When Naomi realised that Ruth was determined to go with her, she stop urging Ruth.

(Ruth was the daughter-in-law of Naomi. Ruth's husband (who is Naomi's son) had passed away. Naomi wanted to send Ruth away back to her own homeland, but Ruth, being loyal and loving, insisted on staying with Naomi.)

deuteronomy 24 : 7

If a man is caught kidnapping one of his brother Israelites and treats him as a slave or sells him, the kidnapper must die. You must purge the evil from among you.

(sounds familiar? yea Singapore's law also states that kidnapping deserves the death punishment.)

1 sammuel 8:19

but the people refused to listen to Sammuel. "No!" they said. "We want a (human) king over us. Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead usand to go out before us and fight our battles..."

(The Israelites wanted a human king, despite God's warnings of the negative consequences of having a human king through Sammuel. In the end, a king was granted to them, who was King Saul.)
